Europske snage solidarnosti – pročitajte iskustva volontera s našeg projekta ”Place Fur Friends”

Participating in the “Place Fur Friends” project was truly a blessing. Embarking on an ESC project to construct houses for bunnies and goats was an extraordinary experience that allowed me to delve into the world of craftsmanship while forging lifelong connections.

Engaging in a practical venture such as building houses for bunnies and goats proved to be an exceptional hands-on learning opportunity. Through this project, I gained invaluable experience in construction techniques, carpentry skills, and the art of creating comfortable and safe environments for our furry friends. The project enabled me to become proficient in utilizing an array of tools and acquire the necessary expertise to handle them.

The ESC project brought together a diverse group of individuals who shared a common goal – the welfare of the animals we were building for. Collaborating with these like-minded individuals was an enriching experience that led to long lasting friendships. As we worked side by side, we exchanged ideas, shared tips and tricks, and supported each other through the challenges we encountered. The genuine sense of unity and collective achievement was truly inspiring and created an atmosphere of warmth and support.

The lasting impact of this project extends beyond the physical structures we built. The highlight of this project is knowing that those houses are going to be a forever home to the animals and are going to be used for educational purposes. (Ivana)

What a great experience! It was my first Erasmus+.
I really enjoyed the company, the friendship that were created and especially the fact that I learned many new things such as using garden tools and painting things! Pozitiva Samobor is a great association, they care about nature and also improving rural place. It’s also really nice to see children from different schools coming and enjoying the place. It was also a great experience meeting people from every part of Europe and not only and sharing with them our ideas and thoughts about life! Our project was about to build hutches for bunnies and goats. We started from the idea, then we drew sketches and then we started with the funniest part: building! We tried our best to finish the project but due to the poor weather we couldn’t. I really appreciated this experience and I want to thank everyone for sharing this little journey, in the best way ever! (Rosaria)

I can say that I was part of the best project for me until now called Place Fur Friends. I always overthink and because of that I I was a bit scared that project is gonna be lame and other volunteers will be awful. After I changed my mind and we met each other, also the city and Greenville. We became like one family and we got along together really good. We also had those days when someone is not in the mood but that’s normal, right? We had small accommodation with shared rooms so I felt like we were really a family. Also people from Greenville were AWESOME! The whole project was really interesting and the best part of it was that we were creating everything so we were the minds of the project. It was so interesting and I was so excited. Day by day we were building goat’s and bunny’s house. Sometimes was really hard because of some natural problems, like huuugeee rocks while digging but with the power of all of us
we did it together. There I met one of the best friends and I’m really glad that I was there. We worked hard but also we had a lot of fun together. I learned how to build things which wasn’t my best thing before 😀 To be honest, I had very interesting experience during the project. I was part of many projects but this one was faaar the best one. And also I celebrated the best birthday eveeer at Greenville. Thanks guys for making this project awesome and something for remember! I’m gonna visit Greenville again for sure <3 Mirsad M.

Participating in the project “Place Fur Friends” made my gap year even better than it already was. Before arriving at Greenville, I had no idea what to expect as I had never participated in an ESC project before. But unexpectedly it became one of the most fun time I ever had. Of course, the traveling we did in our free time as a group was great, and even the work at Greenville was just as fun! Seeing the progress we were making everyday in building the goats and bunny house felt great. We knew, that we were doing something important for the local community. Moreover, I met the most loving and heartwarming people you can imagine. The staff at Greenville and all the participants will always have a place in my heart. Thank you guys for making “Place Fur Friends” unforgettable! (Hannah)

I’m extremely honored and pleased to have had the chance to take part in this project at  Samobor. It was a rich experience, both professionally and in terms of human encounters.  The supervisory team was present, dynamic (and very smiling ! ), and made up of people  with a deep passion for their work. In this project, they passed on their passion for nature,  animal welfare and local initiatives. The team was professional, attentive to our well-being  and really inventive, especially in terms of organizing activities (I’m thinking of the Laser  Game outing in particular!). The food was varied, and frankly very good (and it’s a  Frenchman who says so! ).  The team of volunteers was also amazing. As the days went by, working together, doing activities together, partying together, eating together,… – in short, LIVING together – we  became a genuine family, and we now share strong bonds that are not about to be broken. I  am sincerely grateful for the experience, because without it, I would never have had the  opportunity to meet and explore the personalities of all these unique people, with their very  different life paths. I was delighted to learn how to discover the uniqueness of each person!  On a personal level, this experience has undoubtedly helped me to grow, in every sense of  the word. I discovered an unexpectedly attraction for manual activities, as I was able to  practice handicrafts in a rural environment, an opportunity I didn’t often have in my everyday  life. This enabled me to develop new skills that I would never have been able to develop  without this voluntary work. But above all, this human experience enabled me to improve my  English without really realizing it. I’m convinced that I’ve gained in maturity, initiative and  sociability through this experience, which has thrown me completely out of my comfort zone.  For all these reasons, I would like to sincerely thank the Greenville team for this unique life  experience, which I would never have had without their dedication and professionalism. I’ll  take away skills that will be useful later on, beautiful photos that I can’t wait to print, but  above all priceless and indelible memories that will stay with me for the rest of my life! A  thousand of thanks <3!  (Alan)
