Description: The project is aimed at developing the civic competencies of the participants through non-formal education activities aimed at increasing information and encouraging the active participation of young people in the local community.
The basic precondition for achieving social and political influence of young people is increasing their level of information about ways and opportunities of active participation , which this project seeks to achieve through a set of activities that develop their civic competencies, encourage initiative, teach civic responsibility and equip them with the tools and skills to actively engage in shaping decisions of their interest.
GOALS AND RESULTS
The main problem that the project seeks to solve is the lack of information of young people about civil society, democracy, decision-making process and the way of active civic action in the City of Samobor and the City of Sveta Nedelja.
The main goal of the project is to increase the level of information and understanding of the functioning of local decision-making processes, developing responsibility for active participation in decision-making and encouraging civic engagement of young people in the City of Samobor and the City of Sveta Nedelja.
The specific objectives of the project are: to develop participants' knowledge of strategic documents and decision-making processes of interest to young people at the local and regional level; increasing the level of information of young people about youth councils and civil society organizations and encouraging their involvement in their work; establishing and systematically promoting dialogue between young people and decision-makers at the local level; training participants to respect diversity and tolerance and to participate actively and responsibly in a democratic society.

The material result of the project will be a digital guide for active citizenship in the local self-government units where the project is implemented, while the main intangible results are the learning outcomes of the participants, especially the development of their civic competencies. The project will include a total of 72 young people from the area of the City of Samobor and the City of Sveta Nedelja, with a focus on the inclusion of young people with disabilities.

Cilj radionice je upoznati sudionike sa strateškim dokumentima od interesa za mlade na lokalnoj razini kao što su Odluka o osnivanju Savjeta mladih (i Zakon o Savjetima mladih), Gradski program djelovanja za mlade te lokalnih Strategija razvoja. Uz navedeno, cilj je aktivno uključiti sudionike u osmišljanje i provedbu aktivnosti kojima se ostvaruju ciljevi navedenih dokumenata.

| September 2022 | Simulated City Council session | A cycle of 2 workshops aimed at introducing participants to the work and scope of the City Council and simulating the decision-making process at the local level. Participants will get acquainted with the Rules of Procedure of the Council, formulate and propose agenda items, and discuss and make decisions within the simulated session.
