At the Association, we believe that young people are the key to the development of the social community and that by educating them we create the foundations for future growth and development.
We focus on the development of the following competencies:
- social and civic competencies, which include active involvement in democratic processes, civic activism and care for the community;
- intercultural competences, which imply overcoming intercultural barriers in the age of complete globalization and integration (especially within the European Union) and
- development of entrepreneurial initiative, which contributes to the employment and self-employment of young people, encouraging their activism and social sensitivity when it comes to social entrepreneurship.
The program is aimed at achieving two groups of goals, and is implemented in cooperation with the City of Samobor and the Association of Craftsmen Samobor. It consists of two basic branches:
[1] Activism and participation
Within this area, the Association mostly works to increase the active participation and involvement of young people in democratic processes, raising awareness, developing critical thinking, empowering young people and providing opportunities for their self-expression.
These goals are achieved by the activities of the Association primarily in the field of encouraging dialogue between young people and decision makers and promoting volunteering.
[2] Youth entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship
This program is implemented in order to promote crafts and entrepreneurship among young people, because one of the biggest challenges today is youth unemployment. We understand youth entrepreneurship as a pillar of increasing the level of their social, economic, cultural and political activities.
Through its activities, the Association seeks to educate young generations about the benefits of social entrepreneurship and encourage them to contribute to self-employment and develop responsibility for the community through this concept.
