Interactive STEM education and afterschool programs

 

The project "STEM for all" was co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund within the Call UP.04.2.1.10 "Strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations to promote STEM" , and The holder is the Institute for STEM education and afterschool programs.

The project partners are:

As the name suggests, it is aimed at everyone: children, young people, parents and children with disabilities. In addition to capacity building activities for civil society organizations, the project also focuses on the preparation of innovative, interactive content for the purpose of popularizing STEM among children and youth and the general population.

Project activities

Awaiting us:

  • attending a cycle of personal development workshops
  • education of scientists from the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries
  • seminar on STEM teaching methodology and the use of educational technology in working with children
  • VR content creation workshops
  • training in Design Thinking methods
  • cycle of trainings of lecturers of the partner higher education institution RIT Croatia on the topic of Information Technologies / Web and Mobile Computing
  • a series of workshops "Training for trainers" on the topic of strengthening "soft" skills and teaching skills
  • study visits (to national and foreign) organizations dealing with innovative methods of presentation and approach of STEM to end users
  • fairs, conferences (national and foreign) related to new methods of learning and presenting STEM areas ("Promoting STEAM Education through Teacher Training", "International Conference on Early Childhood and Science Education ICECSE", "European Science on stage festival 2022." in Prague ).

In addition to the activities of strengthening the capacity of associations, the project is focused on the preparation of innovative, interactive content for the purpose of popularizing STEM among children and youth and the general population , in cooperation with the partner Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries from Split we are preparing a multisensory exhibition "Dolphin" in which STEM workshops for children on the topic of ecology and conservation of the sea will be conducted using VR technology.

Association Pozitiva Samobor will organize workshops on the use of technology in organic farming for young people on our beautiful property on the slopes of Samobor.

With the partner association Center for Psychological Support and Development "Tell Me" , webinars for parents are planned on the topic of the impact of screening and digitalization on children's development

We are organizing a summer STEM camp for children with disabilities with the partner association Croatian Association of Children and Cerebral Palsy (HSUDCP) .

Financing

  • Total project value: 886,943.43 HRK
  • Amount of co-financing from the ESF (85%): HRK 753,901.92
  • Amount of co-financing from the state budget (15%): HRK 133,041.51

  • Implementation period: June 2021 - June 2023 (24 months)
