
About the project
The project directly affects the lack of awareness of young people about the EU, non-involvement in EU programs and projects as well as the lack of their active participation in the decision-making process in the EU.
Project goals
The main goal of the project is to empower young people to become active and responsible European citizens, by achieving specific goals such as raising participants' basic knowledge of the EU, raising their awareness of EU opportunities -a, developing basic competencies for active citizenship and developing a sense of a common European identity.
The specific objectives of the project are:
- increase participants' basic knowledge of the EU in geographical, cultural and organizational terms and of the fundamental rights and duties of EU citizens;
- raise the awareness of target groups about the opportunities offered by the EU in the fields of education, training, sports and youth mobility opportunities;
- provide participants with basic competences as prerequisites for active European citizenship;
- develop a "European passport" as a creative information material for young people on the most important areas of EU action of interest to them and the opportunities it offers;
- develop a sense of common European identity for participants and promote fundamental European values;
- promote the Erasmus + program.

Workshops
The following workshops will be conducted within the project:
(1) “The EU and its characteristics” , a set of workshops based on non-formal education methods (discussion, simulation, role play, presentation), based on publications of the EU institutions (European Commission, Council EU), such as: Exploring Europe, The Mystery of the Golden Stars, Europe and you. The results will be to acquaint young people with the basic features of the EU and the general geographical, historical and linguistic interests of the EU Member State; developing participants' social and intercultural competencies and creative expression skills; creating tangible results - elements of publication / installation of My European Passport;
(2) Traveling in Europe , a set of workshops aimed at learning about EU Member States. Participants will research and present facts and figures about EU countries through 5 categories: general information, culture, customs, food and language. Participants will compose a character for each of the countries using recognizable objects, significant works, inventions or people coming from that country. Participants will incorporate the created content into "My European Passport". The results will be the acquisition of basic knowledge of the participants about the characteristics of EU countries, learning about the fundamental values that the EU stands for (justice, equality, solidarity, inclusion, tolerance, etc.), as well as the creation of symbolic figures representing individual EU member states and EU values. which will be an integral part of the publication / installation “My European Passport”. Workshops will also contribute to the development of participants' social, intercultural and linguistic competences and creative expression skills.
(4) “My Citizenship” , a set of workshops through which participants will gain basic knowledge of their civil status in the EU: rights and duties, how to inform themselves, how to express their opinions, how to participate; they also explored the role of the EU at local, regional, national and transnational levels.
(5) “My voice within the EU” , a set of workshops through which participants will gain knowledge on how to communicate with EU institutions and stakeholders in the EU decision-making process (importance of elections for national parliament and elections for EU parliament, participation in the EU decision-making process, forms of citizen participation, etc.).
(6) “Structured dialogue of young people with decision-makers” , a set of workshops through which participants will gain basic knowledge about structured dialogue as an EU concept within which young people have the opportunity to express their opinions and suggestions and thus influence and shape European policies that directly affect them.
(7) “EU Youth Opportunities” , a set of workshops through which participants will gain basic knowledge of EU programs designed to foster youth education, training and mobility. Special focus will be placed on the Erasmus + program (study mobility projects, youth exchanges, European Voluntary Services, youth dialogues with decision makers).
(8) “My European Passport” , a set of workshops through which participants will design a publication / installation as a tangible result of a project.
