Building Friendships and Fur-Filled Homes: My Unforgettable Experience with Association for Sustainable Development “Pozitiva Samobor”
When I signed up for the project with the Association for Sustainable Development “Pozitiva Samobor” in Croatia, little did I know that it would be one of the most heartwarming and memorable experiences of my life. From the moment it commenced on 29th May until the day it concluded on 15th June, every day was filled with joy, camaraderie, and a shared passion for creating a better world for our furry friends.
The project’s noble objective was to build homes for our animal friends with fur, just like goats and bunnies. It was a unique initiative, bringing together people from different corners of the world to collaborate and make a positive impact on the lives of these innocent creatures. Our diverse team included individuals from Egypt, France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sweden, and, of course, Croatia.
As we gathered at the project site, nestled in the picturesque town of Samobor, Croatia, we were welcomed with warm smiles and open arms. The organizers from “Pozitiva Samobor” were truly exceptional – passionate, dedicated, and caring. They ensured that every participant felt valued and engaged, fostering an atmosphere of unity and friendship.
Throughout the project, we all worked diligently, putting our hearts and souls into constructing cozy homes for our animal companions. It was heartening to witness how our collective efforts and diverse skills came together harmoniously to create safe and comfortable shelters.
But it wasn’t all work and no play. In between our rewarding building sessions, we had the opportunity to explore the breathtaking beauty of Croatia and beyond. We embarked on unforgettable trips to Slovenia, where we visited the enchanting Lake Bled, its pristine waters reflecting the serenity that filled our hearts.
Beyond the construction site and the excursions, what truly made this experience extraordinary were the friendships we forged along the way. Despite hailing from different cultural backgrounds, we discovered that compassion and love for animals knew no boundaries. We laughed together, shared stories, and formed a bond that transcended language barriers. As the project drew to a close, there was a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction that emanated from each one of us. We knew that we had contributed not only to the well-being of animals but also to the betterment of global understanding and cooperation.
Looking back on those wonderful days spent in Croatia with the Association for Sustainable Development “Pozitiva Samobor,” I am filled with gratitude and warmth. It was an experience that left an indelible mark on my heart, a reminder that when people come together with a common purpose, miracles can happen.
To the organizers, the volunteers, and all the lovely souls I met during this journey, thank you for making this a truly sweet and unforgettable experience. May the spirit of compassion and collaboration continue to inspire us to create a world where every living being, furry or not, finds love and happiness. (Parvin)
