We create an eco garden for the youngest

The hardworking hands of our ESC volunteers create new contents at the Greenville Eco Educational Farm.

This project is implemented with the financial support of the European Commission. Publications related to the same express the author's sole point of view and the Commission cannot be held responsible for the use of the information contained therein.

The first few days of the volunteer project "ECOVILLE: Designing sustainable rural community" are behind us. After the introductory meeting and the creation of the activity implementation plan, our team and volunteers worked diligently to create new content for children and young people in Greenville.

Considering that at the core of the programs we implement is ecology and sustainable development, which is in line with the needs of the youngest target groups we work with, one of the necessary contents on our farm was a garden. Why a garden? Because we believe that teaching children and young people how to grow food with their own hands is one of the foundations for their healthy life and developing a sense of respect for the nature that surrounds them.

Volunteers took the initiative in designing the concept of the garden (researched examples of good practices, discussed ideas and made plans). They started implementing the final solution very quickly - our days were full of activities such as field preparation, measuring, woodworking and painting. In addition to the above, we had a creative team responsible for beautifying the environment and content on our farm every day.

The garden that the volunteers will create will be in operation in a short time for the implementation of one-day outdoor school programs for elementary school students, gardening programs for retirees and for international programs that we conduct in Greenville.
