Volunteering within the European Solidarity Corps program

As a volunteer of Pozitiva, I participated in a series of activities and workshops. Before starting volunteering, we went through quality training, and I worked to help project coordinators in project management.

I was impressed by the professionalism and ethos and the fact that the organization is genuinely concerned about the welfare of its users,

One of my personal and professional beliefs is that social justice is achieved when all people, regardless of their condition, can have access to the same range of opportunities in society. I think Pozitiva Samobor makes a big contribution by providing activities where young people with disabilities can learn skills, make friends, go out and have fun. Volunteers play a key role in fulfilling this purpose.

As I became more involved in the organization, I began to gain a deeper understanding of the underlying principles, purposes, and functions. Now that I have completed my master's degree and am returning to my country, I feel very grateful for this experience, for what it has done for my learning and personal development.

I had the opportunity to volunteer in an organization related to my career, which helped me with a number of ideas and experiences and contributed to my own professional development.

Besides, I think the best thing about volunteering is the feeling that you are doing something meaningful. When you are a full-time student, you spend a lot of time reading and writing, developing your ideas and thoughts. To me, studying is a very isolating activity that you do mostly for yourself (of course, we all want to make an impact in our society after studying, but that's a long-term goal). Volunteering while studying is a way of making a social contribution with immediate effect.

I think the most challenging thing is time management. It's important to take advantage of volunteer opportunities that you can actually commit to without neglecting your studies.

I have new knowledge about what the volunteering system is like. I gained new skills - I had never worked with young people before. I made important contacts with my colleagues. I have a renewed perspective on what can be done, so I have many ideas to continue working on.

I hope that during my volunteering I have contributed to the well-being of many people, at least I am sure that we had a nice time. I think I helped the team during my internship, bringing my skills and ideas to the office.

I think there are many interesting research problems in the volunteering sector that I could consider in further studies.

Volunteering is the perfect opportunity to develop your own skills and support others on their journey. Having the opportunity to meet different people opens a new perspective on life.

It helps you develop your own empathy, creativity and flexibility. The positive is a very supportive organization, they care about the volunteers as much as the members. They train, support and guide volunteers throughout the process. It is a very welcoming community where you will have the opportunity to connect with your inner child, play and have fun in a healthy environment, meet very nice people and even make new friends.
