ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Many young Europeans are willing to volunteer or work for the common good in projects where their contribution yields concrete results and shows solidarity with disadvantaged people. Finding a suitable opportunity to volunteer can be difficult. That is why the European Solidarity Force was set up.
The European Solidarity Force will provide an opportunity for young people to gain invaluable experience, develop their skills and contribute to society. If you are a young person looking for experience of volunteering or internships and employment, or you are an organization that wants to attract young people to get involved in your activities to strengthen solidarity, then the European Solidarity Force is the right program for you.
The European Solidarity Force contains three types of projects:
- volunteering, through which young people are given the opportunity to volunteer for a period of two to twelve months, at home or abroad
- internships and employment, through which young people are given the opportunity to get a job or internship in a wide range of sectors involved in solidarity-building activities, at home or abroad
- solidarity projects, solidarity activities and initiatives in the local community
The aim of the European Solidarity Force is to enable more young people to take part in a wide range of activities through volunteering or internships and employment, in order to contribute to resolving difficult situations across the European Union, with a view to strengthening solidarity.
